This is awesome, so many good points so well presented.
One question though? How many artist's live better than doctors?
I'd say about 99.9% of artists throughout the world live in relatively poor conditions,
unless of course, they have someone supporting them i.e a rich family.
But, yes, of course, the world is a screwed up place. People are insanely wealthy for no real reason.
And masses are living in poverty.
Bah.
I think this would look good in a graphic novel of some sort.
I like your ending note and despite your belief that every artist is 100% full of shit you made some good points (not original, but still valid) about celebrity obsession. Although it was a little broad of you to assume that it's a world wide obsession instead of fat cat western one.
My favourite moment in Supersize Me was when the child indentified the picture of Jesus as George W Bush.
I totally agree.
I recently went to a gallery where a certain artist was selling works for an average of $70 000 a piece.
And you know why he was selling them? Not because of the integrity of the work.
Rather he had a well known name. I almost vomited.
This reminds me of a song that Johnny Sizzle wrote a while ago called "Ron Jeremy 4 President." It was basically about how it seems like people would rather be entertained than be under reliable leadership...
Heyhey, this SHOULD be a song! Dude! You know bass, guitar, do you know drums? You could mix it yourself! Then hire some singer over the internet or something if you can't sing.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I heart this picture and you are my hero of the week!

A brand new monthly article which showcases some of deviantART's finest equine artists, as well as recognizing the lesser-known but equally talented ones. Interviews, helpful tutorials and features can all be found here too! I hope you enjoy it.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
A collection of the most beautiful and amazing square photographs I found among my favourites. Please have a look and give these artists the attention they deserve!
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More

Stay angry.

That's Tasty Cola!
I just figured if I wasn't vauge, and wasn't broad, people wouldn't listen.
and yes - the points are almost entirely old-news, but I think just because somethings old, doesn't mean that it's obsolete.
I mean-- you can sing... ya...
